4 weeks from Sunday...

So this is a blog....I'm setting this up in order to update family & friends on my life while I spend the next 2 years in Burkina Faso, West Africa for service in the Peace Corps. I will be teaching secondary level math (in French) in the 3rd poorest country in the world, most likely without running water or electricity on a daily basis. Sounds glamorous, doesn't it? Well, serving in the Peace Corps is something I have wanted to do since I graduated 5 yrs ago... So it's now or never, right?

4 weeks from Sunday (March 13th) is my departure date. I go to Philly for staging (orientation) to meet the other volunteers in my group, get any necessary vaccinations, and get an overview of what I am in for. March 15th is when we all leave as a group for Burkina Faso to begin our little adventure together. Until then, I'll be packing, moving, selling, consolidating, and saying goodbye/partying it up!! If anyone wants or needs any of my stuff, it's all up for grabs!! Otherwise, the poor people here in America will get it. :)
